Clouds
05:45
|
|||
The clouds play tricks, they like to swell
They like to trail their veils of rain
They make you think you know the way
They even think you hear again
Old sounds you haven't heard for years
Their insubstantiality
Bearing the weight of remembered
Voices across the tarn from the scree

The grey sea and the long black land;
And the yellow half-moon large and low;
And the startled little waves that leap
In fiery ringlets from their sleep,
As I gain the cove with pushing prow,
And quench its speed i' the slushy sand.
Then a mile of warm sea-scented beach;
Three fields to cross till a farm appears;
A tap at the pane, the quick sharp scratch
And blue spurt of a lighted match,
And a voice less loud, thro' its joys and fears,
Than the two hearts beating each to each!

Silence Is Here
05:11
|
|||
See you approach your green, green garden
Watch you engulfed by cherry tree blossom
Flowers bloom around you, trees stir in motion
Leaves drift in circles to ground that surrounds you
But there's quiet here
And all movements stills
All around you, dear
Silence breathes the hills
Silence is here
Blooming colours, seeds planted long ago
Winding 'round branches, leaping up to and fro
Greenhouse wide open, filled up with sunrise
Warmth feeds the flowers, history in making
But there's quiet here
And all movements stills
All around you, dear
Silence breathes the hills
Silence is here
Flowers bloom around you, trees stand still
Reaching up to skies above the hills
Seeds were sown those years ago still bloom
Always blossom in years to come, here in your garden

Sea Fever
03:14
|
|||
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.

Desire For Nothing Known
05:31
|
|||
Drive the desire from your mind and let your soul roam free
Speak to other lives, open up inside and dream
Free the desire for the answers to all questions known
Let your mind be free, let your spirit linger with
Silent grace in spaces be
Silent space in bars between
Drive the desire from your mind and let your soul roam free
Speak to other lives, open up inside and dream
Far from beyond the world beckons to your heart let go
Desire for nothing known, let yourself just roam here with
Silent grace in spaces be
Silent space in bars between

I'm Not Alone
06:30
|
|||
Can you stay up for the weekend
And blame God for looking too old
Can you find all that you stand for
Has been replaced with mountains of gold
You cannot dream yourself to notice
To feel pain and swallow fear
But can you stay up for the weekend
For next year
God, I can’t do this any more
Though I'll be laid down on the floor
As many feet walk through the door
I’m not alone
If I see a light flashing
Could this mean that I’m coming home
If I see a man waving
Does this mean that I’m not alone

From My Window
03:22
|
|||
From my window I see you
But you don't see me
A hundred stories with no-one in them
But me and the enemy and you
Your guardian angel, sleeping
While you're up here and weeping
And it's overcast with youth and beauty
You're cold and shaking, you lonely creature
You clear the ledge, deep with snow
The pulse quickens, the tears are dry now
The crowd has gathered below
And mother's baby's falling
Through arms outstretched and calling
That it's not the ending, there are just more stories.

Arthur's Dance
03:54
|
|||
Sleep seven hours as night time falls
Call Mr Bunny, and curtains are drawn
Sleep has its time and a place in the day
But night-time is peaceful in its own way.
Close your blue eyes let your smile rest tonight
Save it till morning when the sun will rise
Rest up your feet, little hands, little toes
When morning has come, sun shines on home.
Sitting on clouds let your mind roam free
Making up dreams so easily
Travel the world to a place that is new
Dreams are your own, go where you choose.
